Pedro Marques Ramos is a seasoned pharma professional with over 11 years of experience in biomedical research and pharmaceutical development. Pedro holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from University of Porto and a PhD in Biomedical Research from the Weill Cornell Medical College/University of Porto, followed by postdoctoral fellowship in Oncology at Friedrish Miescher Institute. Through his academic journey, Pedro has gained extensive expertise in oncology translational research, becoming deeply passionate about precision and personalized medicine. This led him to join Novartis Precision Medicine team in 2016, where he currently serves as Executive Director, Global Biomarker and Diagnostic Lead, leading Biomarker and diagnostic strategies for late-stage programs in Hematology and Oncology. Pedro has great expertise on diagnostic guidelines, patient selection and IVD development, and has witnessed first-hand the value that Precision medicine brings for the development of innovative solutions for patients.
